According to Indian media reports, the email sent to Ayush Sharma is believed to be linked to a member of the Lawrence Bishnoi gang. The incident comes a day after actor Ranveer Singh received a threatening WhatsApp voice message demanding a ransom, further heightening concerns among Bollywood stars.<\/p>\n
The Mumbai Crime Branch confirmed that Sharma received the email via ProtonMail and has launched an investigation to trace the sender and determine the motive. Officials are also examining whether the email was sent from inside India or from abroad.<\/p>\n
Police noted that the recent threats involve sophisticated digital tools, with Ranveer Singh\u2019s message sent through a VPN to conceal the sender\u2019s identity. Similarly, the use of ProtonMail in Sharma\u2019s case indicates an attempt to remain anonymous, making the investigation more complex as authorities navigate multiple layers of digital security.<\/p>\n
The threats follow an earlier security incident near filmmaker Rohit Shetty\u2019s residence on January 31, where five shots were fired outside his home. Five suspects have been arrested in that case and remanded to custody until February 17 for further investigation.<\/p>\n
Among those detained is Asaram Phasale, accused of supplying weapons and working with the Bishnoi gang for several years while posing as a mechanic.<\/p>\n
