For the first time in Pakistan\u2019s history, petroleum levy collection in the first half of a fiscal year has reached an unprecedented level, official documents reveal.<\/p>\n
During July\u2013December 2025, petroleum levy receipts amounted to Rs 822.93 billion, showing an increase of Rs 273.51 billion compared to Rs 549.41 billion collected in the same period of the previous fiscal year.<\/p>\n
Last month, the federal government had raised the petroleum levy by Rs 4.65 per litre, bringing it to Rs 84.27 per litre, while the levy on high-speed diesel was increased by Rs 0.80 per litre to Rs 76.21 per litre.<\/p>\n
In addition, the government collected Rs 25.48 billion under the carbon levy during the first half of the current fiscal year, further contributing to the record revenue.<\/p>\n
