Sources said the disqualification reference against Senator Saifullah Abro was not signed by the party head but by the parliamentary leader, which violated a mandatory requirement under the defection clause. Under the relevant constitutional provisions, any reference seeking disqualification on defection grounds must bear the signature of the party head.<\/p>\n
It was further stated that the absence of the party head\u2019s signature constituted a fundamental technical defect in the reference. As a result, the Chairman Senate declared the reference inadmissible and dismissed it without proceeding on its merits.<\/p>\n
