Pakistan has told the United Nations Security Council that the unresolved Palestine issue remains the core cause of instability and insecurity in the Middle East, declaring that the ongoing war, forced displacement and destruction in Gaza are unacceptable.<\/p>\n
Speaking during a Security Council meeting, Pakistan\u2019s Permanent Representative to the UN, Ambassador Asim Iftikhar, said continued violations of ceasefire arrangements in Gaza were deeply alarming and that the targeting of civilians constituted a clear breach of international law.<\/p>\n
He strongly condemned attacks on United Nations facilities and the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees (UNRWA), stressing that such actions undermine humanitarian operations and international norms.<\/p>\n
The Pakistani envoy emphasised the need for full implementation of the peace framework outlined under Security Council Resolution 2803, calling it essential for restoring stability in the region.<\/p>\n
Ambassador Iftikhar urged an immediate and permanent ceasefire, unhindered delivery of humanitarian assistance, and the urgent launch of reconstruction efforts in Gaza.<\/p>\n
He reiterated Pakistan\u2019s firm support for the establishment of a sovereign and independent Palestinian state based on pre-1967 borders, with Al-Quds Al-Sharif as its capital. He said Pakistan\u2019s solidarity with the Palestinian people would remain unwavering.<\/p>\n
The Pakistani representative also called on Israel to immediately halt what he described as illegal actions in Syria and Lebanon, warning that such measures were further destabilising the wider region.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
