On the instructions of the interior minister, the emergency travel document system has also been fully digitised.<\/p>\n<p>Mohsin Naqvi appreciated the performance of the Director General of Immigration and Passports and his team for introducing a technology-driven monitoring mechanism. He said the Pakistan passport system had now been aligned with those of the world\u2019s leading countries.<\/p>\n<p>He said the new system would enable real-time monitoring of passport applications and deliveries within Pakistan and abroad. \u201cFrom the time a passport is applied for until its delivery, every stage will now be monitored,\u201d he said, adding that the objective was to provide citizens with fast, secure and globally standardised services.<\/p>\n<p>The interior minister said the advanced monitoring system would further improve the efficiency of the passport department. He added that the security features of Pakistani passports had been upgraded in line with International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) standards.<\/p>\n<p>He also noted that the use of modern automatic German machines had enhanced the department\u2019s operational capacity.
