Veteran Bollywood lyricist Javed Akhtar has strongly criticized the makers of the upcoming Pakistan-themed film \u201cBorder 2\u201d for relying on old songs instead of creating original music.<\/p>\n
In an interview with Indian media, Akhtar said that once a song has already achieved extraordinary success, there is no need to present it in a new way. He stressed that filmmakers should either create fresh, quality songs or admit that they cannot match the standards of the past.<\/p>\n
Akhtar, who wrote the songs for the original 1997 film \u201cBorder\u201d, was approached to contribute to the sequel. He declined, stating that reusing old songs reflects creative bankruptcy.<\/p>\n
