Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif\u2019s vision of a safer province is taking shape as the government signed agreements to establish smart Safe Cities in 98 tehsils across the province.<\/p>\n
The signing ceremony took place at the Central Police Office, where Brigadier Azmat Shabbir, Managing Director of National Radio and Telecommunication Corporation (NRTC), and Muhammad Ahsan Yunus, Managing Director of the Safe Cities Authority, formally inked the agreement. Under the contract, NRTC will complete the establishment of smart Safe Cities in all 98 tehsils by December 31, 2026.<\/p>\n
Punjab Inspector General of Police Dr. Usman Anwar, Safe Cities Chief Operating Officer Captain (R) Mustansar Feroz, CPLO Abdullah Ahmed, SSP Safe City Muhammad Afzal, and other senior officials were present at the ceremony. NRTC officials including GM Brigadier (R) Zahid Metla, Brigadier (R) Shahid Manzoor, GM Syed Amir Javed, and Project Director Brigadier (R) Muzaffar Ahmed also attended.<\/p>\n
According to Ahsan Yunus, Phase One of the project has been completed 100 percent in 18 cities, including Multan, Sheikhupura, Sialkot, Jhelum, Attock, Sargodha, and Dera Ghazi Khan. Phase Two will see smart Safe Cities operational in another 19 cities by March 31, 2026.<\/p>\n
