Senior Sindh Minister Sharjeel Inam Memon announced that the provincial government has approved development projects worth a total of Rs 1,018 billion under the 2025-26 development strategy.<\/p>\n
Speaking about the plan, Memon said the government\u2019s priorities include building resilient infrastructure against extreme weather, rehabilitating flood-affected areas, improving education and health, better coordination, and reducing poverty.<\/p>\n
Highlighting key projects, he said Rs 340 billion has been allocated to rebuild 1,600 flood-affected secondary schools. Nine new cadet colleges will be established, and the women\u2019s university in Sukkur is nearing completion.<\/p>\n
Memon also highlighted the Sindh Peoples Housing Scheme (SPHF) for flood-affected residents in Karachi and other cities. So far, verification for two million homes has been completed, around 1.4 million individuals have received payments, 10 lakh jobs have been created, and 300,000 women have been granted land ownership rights.<\/p>\n
He emphasized that the plan gives special attention to girls\u2019 education to ensure every child has access to quality schooling. Grants-in-aid of Rs 146.9 billion have been allocated to major hospitals including SIUT, SICVD, and Indus Hospital to provide free and quality healthcare to citizens.<\/p>\n
In the energy sector, Rs 69.97 billion has been allocated for the Sindh Solar Energy Project. Under foreign project assistance, Rs 1,557.65 billion in investments will be utilized effectively. Public-private partnership projects, including the Ghotki-Kandhkot bridge and Dhabeji Industrial Zone, are ongoing to support industrial growth and urban welfare.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
