Islamabad Traffic Police have released their performance audit report for the year 2025.<\/p>\n
According to the report, traffic violations decreased by 45 percent, while the rate of traffic accidents dropped by 22 percent compared to the previous year.<\/p>\n
Chief Traffic Officer (CTO) Hamza Humayun stated that during the year, 7,931 individuals were fined for using mobile phones while driving, and 65,784 motorcyclists were penalized for riding without helmets. In addition, 120 driving licenses and 90 route permits were suspended for serious violations of traffic rules.<\/p>\n
The report also highlighted that 21,168 vehicles with illegal number plates or tinted windows were targeted, resulting in a 12 percent reduction in such violations. Over 88,000 road users were checked across five police checkpoints, and 2,100 citizens received various forms of assistance from the traffic police.<\/p>\n
CTO Hamza Humayun added that the licensing campaign was highly successful, raising the percentage of licensed drivers from 37 percent to 81 percent. During 2025, more than 560,000 citizens were issued driving licenses.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
