{"id":67878,"date":"2025-10-23T15:03:58","date_gmt":"2025-10-23T10:03:58","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/internews.pk\/eng\/?p=67878"},"modified":"2025-10-23T15:03:58","modified_gmt":"2025-10-23T10:03:58","slug":"ihc-directs-jail-officials-to-permit-visits-for-names-listed-by-salman-akram-raja","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/chinaurdu.com\/eng\/?p=67878","title":{"rendered":"IHC directs jail officials to permit visits for names listed by Salman Akram Raja"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The Islamabad High Court (IHC) on Thursday directed the Superintendent of Adiala Jail to arrange meetings between former Prime Minister Imran Khan and the individuals named in the list submitted by his lawyer, Salman Akram Raja, in accordance with the court\u2019s previous order issued on March 24.<\/p>\n<p>The order was passed by a two-member bench comprising Justice Sarfraz Dogar and Justice Azam Khan during the hearing of petitions related to restrictions on meetings with the PTI founder in jail.<\/p>\n<p>During the proceedings, Advocate General Punjab Amjad Pervez requested the court to nullify the earlier single-bench decision, arguing that the rules suspended by the court were not federal but provincial, as the 18th Amendment had transferred these powers to the provinces.<\/p>\n<p>Presenting his arguments, Salman Akram Raja contended that the court\u2019s March 24 order had not been implemented even once. \u201cWe submit names for meetings each time as per the court\u2019s decision, but the authorities keep denying access \u2014 and sometimes even add outsiders to the list,\u201d he told the bench.<\/p>\n<p>Responding to these claims, the Superintendent of Adiala Jail stated that regular meetings are held, but \u201cno such list has been received from Salman Akram Raja.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>After hearing both sides, the IHC instructed the jail authorities to fully comply with the March 24 order and to allow meetings for all individuals included in the list provided by Salman Akram Raja.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The Islamabad High Court (IHC) on Thursday directed the Superintendent of Adiala Jail to arrange meetings between former Prime Minister Imran Khan and the individuals named in the list submitted by his lawyer, Salman Akram Raja, in accordance with the court\u2019s previous order issued on March 24.
