Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has announced the Roshan Maeeshat (Bright Economy) Power Package aimed at supporting Pakistan\u2019s industrial and agricultural sectors to promote economic growth and job creation.<\/p>\n
During a meeting with experts from the industrial and agricultural sectors and representatives of the business community, the Prime Minister unveiled the new relief package, which will provide discounted electricity for the next three years, from November 2025 to October 2028.<\/p>\n
Under the initiative, the industrial sector, which currently pays Rs. 34 per unit, and the agricultural sector, which pays Rs. 38 per unit, will both receive additional electricity at a reduced rate of Rs. 22.98 per unit throughout the year.<\/p>\n
Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif emphasized that the cost of the relief package would not be passed on to domestic or other consumer groups, ensuring that the support directly benefits industries and farmers.<\/p>\n
He lauded Minister for Power Sardar Awais Leghari and his team for their efforts in designing the package, describing it as a major step toward economic revitalization.<\/p>\n
\u201cThe growth of industry and agriculture is essential for Pakistan\u2019s economic development and job creation,\u201d the Prime Minister said, adding that the government was taking all possible measures to enhance the competitiveness of local industries and farmers in the regional market.<\/p>\n
Highlighting the success of last winter\u2019s power relief package, the Prime Minister said the industrial and agricultural sectors had consumed an additional 410 gigawatts of electricity, which helped boost exports and create employment opportunities.<\/p>\n
\u201cThe journey from economic crisis to stability was challenging, but it became possible through the hard work of our economic team and the cooperation of the business community,\u201d he noted.<\/p>\n
He further stated that as industrial and agricultural growth continues, Pakistan will move closer to freeing itself from external debt. \u201cBy the grace of Allah, our economic indicators have improved due to sound policies \u2014 but we must continue to work harder,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n
Expressing optimism, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif said he was confident that, with collective effort and continued dedication, Pakistan would soon achieve economic self-reliance.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
