The Islamabad Police have launched a vigorous crackdown on traffic violations across the capital, targeting lane violations, fancy number plates, one-wheeling, and tinted glasses. According to the police spokesperson, more than 9,000 motorcycles and vehicles have been penalized between October 1 and October 4.<\/p>\n
As part of the operation, over 2,500 motorcycles and cars were impounded at local police stations.<\/p>\n
The police data shows that 411 drivers were fined for lane violations, 346 for running red signals and using non-standard number plates, 42 for underage driving, 273 for double riding, and 84 for driving without a license.<\/p>\n
Numerous others were ticketed for miscellaneous traffic violations.<\/p>\n
Chief Traffic Officer (CTO) Islamabad urged citizens to wear helmets at all times and stay within their designated lanes to ensure safety on the roads. He emphasized that traffic police teams are actively deployed across major roads and highways to enforce traffic laws and curb dangerous driving behavior.<\/p>\n
