Pakistan and China reaffirmed their commitment to bolster cooperation on China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) projects during a meeting between Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar and Zheng Jianbang, the vice chairman of the Standing Committee of the National People\u2019s Congress of China.<\/p>\n
The meeting took place on the sidelines of the 15th Organisation of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) Islamic Summit Conference in The Gambia, where both sides emphasized the significance of strengthening economic ties through close cooperation.<\/p>\n
Highlighting the enduring strategic partnership between Pakistan and China, the officials discussed deepening exchanges between the Parliament of Pakistan and the National People\u2019s Congress of China. They also expressed determination to elevate cooperation on CPEC projects to new heights.<\/p>\n
Additionally, the discussions covered China\u2019s expanding relationship with the OIC, emphasizing the importance of dialogue and mutual understanding for fostering peace and prosperity.<\/p>\n
Radio Pakistan reported that Dar reiterated Pakistan\u2019s unwavering support for China\u2019s core issues and emphasized the importance of enhancing mutually beneficial economic collaboration.<\/p>\n
Jianbang reaffirmed China\u2019s steadfast support for Pakistan\u2019s sovereignty, territorial integrity, and development aspirations.<\/p>\n
In separate meetings, Dar engaged with Turkiye Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan and Azerbaijan Foreign Minister Jeyhun Bayramov. The discussions focused on strengthening bilateral ties, particularly in economic, trade, and defense sectors.<\/p>\n
Cooperation in areas such as trade, connectivity, energy, and people-to-people contacts were emphasized, alongside Pakistan\u2019s interest in collaboration on climate change, as Azerbaijan secured the bid to host COP29.
